I am planning to write GATE exams for MBA to join in institutions like IIM in the coming year. How to prepare for the exams?- 17-Nov-2008
A prolonged preparation is required to take-up GATE exams. The number of students appearing for this exam is increasing every year. This year 2,50,000 persons have appeared for this exam. Roughly 3,500 would be selected. From this the competitiveness of the exam can be understood. Apart from IIM 100 Management institutions go by the GATE exam.
The questions in GATE exams are unpredictable. Doing MBA through GATE will always get good offers in the top management institutions. New types of questions are found every year. But there was not much of a change in the question-pattern this year. It was felt that Maths questions were tough. Many calculations had to be done in data interpretation section. The questions in verbal section needed more attention.
It is advisable to attend as many questions as possible within the permitted time. It is considered that every question consumes a little more than the allotted 2 minutes. This is possible only to those who had been preparing for many months.
It is not an impossible target for the youngsters who enroll in a good training institute and continuously prepare for the GATE exams.
Counselors consider that there wouldnt be much change in the 2008 GATE exams. The counselors say that the chances of reducing the questions is less, since the GATE exam is framed at the same standard of GRE and GMAT exams. But a section with detailed answer is possible. Instead of this another section is also possible. Keeping this in mind prepare and attend.
